O'Garro Wraps Up Outstanding Rookie Season At NCAA East Regionals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Fairleigh Dickinson freshman Taeco O'Garro competed in the 2019 NCAA Track & Field East Regional Preliminaries Saturday afternoon at Hodges Stadium, finishing 35th overall in the triple jump with a final mark of 14.88. 

The competition marks the conclusion of the 2019 campaign for O'Garro.

The Antigua native caps off one the strongest freshman seasons for any Knight in program history after taking home the gold in both the NEC Indoor and Outdoor Championships for triple jump in 2019.

In May, he took home first-team All-NEC honors and was also named the NEC Most Outstanding Rookie for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, earning back-to-back awards in his first year at FDU. 

O'Garro also twice shattered a 38-year old program record in the triple jump at the Winthrop Adidas Classic in March, posting marks of 15.08 and 15.24 to surpass Byron Williams' previous record of 14.88.
