About Tom Green:
Tom Green was named as head coach by FDU in May 1983, succeeding J. Donald Feeley, and headed the Knights until 2013.
Across his 26 seasons at the helm of the Knights he led the team to a 407-351 record including four NCAA Tournament appearances, two NIT bids and 23 NEC Tournament appearances. His 407 wins are the most in FDU history and he has the most wins of any coach in Northeast Conference play with a 263-129 record in NEC games.
Green led the Knights to postseason tournament championships in the NEC in 1985, 1988, 1998 and 2005, and won league regular season titles in 1986, 1988 and again in 2006. Green was named conference's Coach of the Year in 1985 and 1986. He coached the team to consecutive seasons with 20 wins in both 2004-05 and 2005-06.
Green notched his 400th win in the final game of the 2007-08 season. After 26 seasons with the Knights, Green then took the job as head coach at The City College of New York (CCNY) in the 2011–12 season. Under Green, the teamreached the playoffs four times, including a trip to the CUNY Athletic Conference Championship Game in 2017 after posting a 17-10 record, which was CCNY's best single-season record since the 1950-51 championship team. Green left CCNY this past summer after six seasons at the helm.
Prior to joining the Knights, Green spent time as an assistant coach at Drew University (1971-72), Syracuse (1972-76) and Tulane (1976-83).
