HACKENSACK, N.J. – #6 FDU has arrived at the NEC tournament stage of their 2025-26 campaign. The Knights are aiming to extend their chapter as they get ready to square off against #3 Mercyhurst in Erie on Wednesday. The quarterfinal is set for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
- FDU went 2-0 this season in their contests against the Lakers
- The Knights defeated Mercyhurst in Erie by a score of 74-67 in the NEC opener (1/4/26)
- The Burgundy and Blue defended their home floor by beating the Lakers 55-52 (2/7/26)
- Taeshaud Jackson averaged 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in these games, recording a double-double in each of them
- Joey Niesman led the team in scoring in conference play with 14.6 points per game
- Taeshaud Jackson finished the regular season with seven double-doubles and led the league in rebounding with 8.4 boards per game
- Eric Parnell knocked down an NEC-leading 80 triples in 31 games
- The Knights got to the line 349 times in NEC play which was third-most in the league
- FDU finished second in the league in offensive rebounding (11.2 per game) in conference play
- Mercyhurst finished the NEC regular season at 10-8 and earned the #3 seed
- This is the Lakers' first NEC tournament game
- Mercyhurst collected single-digit wins over LIU and Stonehill in two of their final three games to secure a first-round home game
- At 72.0 points per game, Mercyhurst possessed the third-best offense in league play
- They also led the league in assist to turnover ratio in the conference campaign (1.71)
The winner of this game will advance to the NEC semifinal slated for Saturday, March 7.
