HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jack Castleberry announced the addition of Assistant Coach
Robert Gerity on Thursday morning. Gerity is set to join the Knights after spending two seasons on Iona's staff as a graduate assistant.
"Bobby [Robert] will be a great addition to our staff," said Castleberry. "He is a bright mind and has a great work ethic. I am looking forward to working with him and watching him help us get better."
During Gerity's time with the Gaels, he led and executed in-depth analytical projects that provided comprehensive insights and metrics. Gerity also played a role in on-court operations, which included daily practices and player development. His analytical focus contributed to tracking live statistics, late game strategy, substitution patterns and optimizing shot selection.
"I am very excited to be joining the FDU men's basketball program," said Gerity. "I am grateful to Coach Castleberry for brining me along, and I cannot wait to get started."
Before earning a Master of Education at Iona, Gerity spent his undergrad days at Xavier. In addition to earning his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Gerity served as a manager with the Musketeers men's basketball program. In this role, he cut film and edited video, streamlined the distribution of team equipment on a daily basis.
While at Xavier, Gerity got his start in coaching at Turpin High School, where he served as the junior varsity boys basketball head coach.
Gerity begins this new role at FDU immediately. The Knights begin their 2026-27 campaign in November.
