Women's Basketball Heads to Staten Island for Saturday Tilt with Wagner

HACKENSACK, N.J. - After a six-day break, the Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. over on Staten Island against Wagner in game three of Northeast Conference play. 

QUICK HITTERS
• FDU will try an avoid a 0-3 start in NEC play with a win at Wagner on Saturday. The Knights started 0-3 back in the 2014-15 season.
• The Knights' last three games have been decided by a total of 8 points. That is the first time that has happened under Peter Cinella.  
• Thru two conference games, the Knights are second in NEC scoring at 71.5 points per contest
• Amina Markovic is T6 in the NEC scoring over 2 NEC games so far at 16 per contest … Lauren Francillon and Peniel M'Bikata are also in double figures at 10 per contest

SERIES SCORE
Wagner and FDU will meet for the 71st time on Saturday afternoon. The Knights are seeking their third straight win in the series and their sixth win in eight trips over to Staten Island. A win would be the 38th all-time against Wagner for FDU, which would be the second-most wins by FDU over a conference opponent all-time. FDU has beaten St. Francis Brooklyn 47 times, which is the most wins by FDU over one opponent.

LAST TIME OUT
For a third straight game, the Knights had a chance to win or force overtime, but Peniel M'Bikata's three then jumper were offline and Robert Morris hung on to beat FDU 66-64. The Knights closed the game on a 12-0 over the final seven minutes to get a shot to tie. Brianna Thomas and M'Bikata led the with 12 points for the Knights. Lauren Francillon was also in double figures with 10. The Colonials hit more three-point field goals (12) then two-point field goals (11) to get the win. Six of the 12 three-pointers came from Rebecca Navarro, who led all scorers with 22 points.  

ABOUT WAGNER
The Seahawks enter the game 0-2 in the NEC play so far and have lost 11 in a row to sit at 1-12 on the season. Tanasia Russell leads the Seahawks in scoring at 11.6 points per game. That is a quarter of what Wagner averages per game (45.8). Defensively, the Seahawk allowed 66 points in both if its Northeast Conference games so far and 70.8 points overall this season.

FDU has scored 798 points this season. 52% (416) of those have come from inside the arc. 31% (249) have come from three-pointers and the remaining 16.6% (133) have been scored via the free throw line.
