BOSTON –
Mae Thompson broke her own school record at the Boston University John Thomas Invitational on Friday afternoon in the 800m. Four other Knights set new personal bests on Friday for the women's track and field team.
Thompson ran a 2:11.05 – finished 14th on Friday – in the 800m to break her previous record of 2:11.53 by almost a half a second. The time would also place in her the top 50 nationally heading into action this weekend and would be the best time in the Northeast Conference by over four seconds.

Anika Dwyer,
Madeline Price and
Atara Segree all set new personal bests in their respective events.
Akemi established a new best in the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.46. The first-year Knight shaved 0.14 of a second off her previous best. Her twin sister, Anika jumped to a new best in the triple jump with a distance of 11.16m – finished in eighth.
Fellow freshman, Price set new personal bests in the both the 60m (8.15) and the 200m (26.69) on Friday.
Senior,
Atara Segree ran a 2:17.25 in the 800m to set a new personal best by over four seconds. The time puts Segree inside the top 10 on the NEC Performance List.
Decoda Simpson recorded a second top ten finish for Fairleigh Dickinson with her fifth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.62m. The distance was the second-best mark this season by the junior.
The lone women's event tomorrow is the DMR at BU. The women's track and field returns to action next Friday, February 3 for the Metropolitan Championships on Staten Island.
