Women's Basketball Travels to Robert Morris for NEC Quarterfinal Tilt Sunday

HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team will try to avenge last season's loss in the NEC Quarterfinals at Robert Morris and end a 17-game NEC Tournament losing streak.

OPENING TIP
FDU looks to beat RMU for a 3rd time this season. The Knights have not done that since beating LIU 3 times in 91-92.

SERIES SCORE
FDU is 23-35 against RMU all-time and 1-2 all-time in the NEC Tournament. It is the 2nd straight season the two will meet in the first round.

LAST TIME OUT
Bryant scored 25 of the first 35 points and held FDU to 6 points in the first quarter to win 74-52. Forty-one of the Knights 52 points came from its bench.

POSTSEASON PLAY
For the 2nd straight year & 6th time under Peter Cinella, FDU will play in the NEC Tournament. FDU has won the NEC Tournament twice ('90, '92). The Knights will try to end a 17-game NEC Tournament losing streak. FDU is 6-18 all-time in NEC Tournament place.

REMEMBER 1992?
The last time FDU won the NEC Tournament was 1992 when they also played RMU in the quarterfinals -- won 63-53 in Emmitsburg.

THREE IS A TREND?
The Knights will try to beat the Colonials for a third straight time. That has not happened since 2002-04. FDU has not won back-to-back trips to Moon since winning there in 95-96 & 96-97.

Three Knights earned All-NEC recognition. Madelynn Comly (Littlestown, Pa./Delone Catholic) was named to the All-Rookie Team. Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) earned Second Team All-NEC and Erika Livermore (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) was named First Team All-NEC.
