Meet ScheduleHACKENSACK, N.J. – The 2015 outdoor season kicks off at the Wake Forest Open this weekend for the Fairleigh Dickinson women's track and field team. The competition begins on Friday and will wrap up on Saturday.
2015 Schedule
After the opening weekend trip to Wake, the Knights will head back south next weekend when they travel to Towson. April sees the Knights make a short trip to Ramapo and then head back to North Carolina for a meet at North Carolina A&T State. Trips to Princeton and to Philadelphia for the Penn Relays complete April for FDU. Northeast Conference Championships will take place on the first weekend of May at Mount Saint Mary's. May 15-17 is the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Princeton then the NCAA Prelims on May 28-30 in Jacksonville, Florida and the NCAA Championships will take place on June 10-13 out in Eugene, Oregon.
2015 NEC Indoor
The Knights finished seventh at this year's NEC Championships with 46 points. That is the highest finish and point total for the Knights in the last five years.
Naomi Hines (Bronx, N.Y/Bronx C.C.) won the shot put with an 18.27m effort. Freshman
Mae Thompson (Esher, England/Hinchely Wood School) was named Most Outstanding Rookie Performer of the meet after she finished second in the 500m with a 1:16.19.
Nia Alleyne (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) finished third in the Triple Jump with a 11.52m best.
2014 NEC Outdoor
FDU finished ninth at last year's NEC Outdoor Championships with 42 points. That is the most points since 2011 when the Knights scored 42 and finished eighth.
Shnell Wishart (Brooklyn, NY/Medgar Evers College Prep ) finished second in the Triple Jump (11.96m) and
Ashli Weems (Millville, N.J./Millville) finished second in the Discus with a 45.64m best.
The first day of action for the Wake Forest Open will start a 9:30 a.m. with the women's Hammer and men's Shot Put events. The Running starts at 1 p.m. the prelims of the women's 100m hurdles followed by the men's 110 hurdles prelims. Saturday will see the women's Javelin kick things off at 9 a.m. The running starts with the women's 4x400 relay at 11 a.m.
