Women's Basketball Gets Visit from UMass Lowell Friday

HACKENSACK, N.J. – In the second game of an eight-game home stand the Fairleigh Dickinson welcomes the UMass Lowell River Hawks to the Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The game is part of a double for Fairleigh Dickinson's men and women. The men play Towson at approximately 8 p.m. on Friday.

SERIES SCORE
FDU and UMass Lowell have met only once prior, that coming last season up in Lowell. The home River Hawks took the 78-67 win. FDU is 9-15 all-time against current members of the America East Conference.

LAST TIME OUT
FDU snapped a two-game slide with a 73-52 win over Saint Peter's on Dec. 9. The Knights used multiple scoring runs eventually build a 30-point lead in the fourth quarter and earned the win.

SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
After opening the season with five straight losses the River Hawks are 2-2 in their last four games. UML is coming off a 75-67 win over Holy Cross back on December 9. Kayla Gibbs leads the River Hawks in scoring at 13.8 points per game. Lindsey Doucette is right behind her at 13.7 and Nicole Hayner is averaging 11.0. Doucette leads the team in rebounding at 9.3 per contest. Three players are averaging two or more assists per game.

3-POINT TURNAROUND?
FDU has made 15 three-pointers (15-of-38) in its last three games after making only nine through its first five. The Knights are only shooting 28.6% on the season still.

SECOND CHANCES
FDU is second in the NEC in offensive rebounds per game at 16.0. The Knights are third in total OREB with 112 through 7 games.
 
BACK-TO-BACK WINS
Last time FDU won back-to-back games was last season in February at Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis Brooklyn.
