HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (5-13, 2-5 NEC) is heading to west Pennsylvania for two Northeast Conference clashes in three days, first at Saint Francis University (3-16, 2-6 NEC) on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 31, in the first game of a doubleheader with the FDU and SHU men's basketball teams. Last Time Out
The Knights suffered their first loss in two weeks when they lost a close 79-75 match-up against LIU Brooklyn at Stratis Arena. Redshirt junior Erika Livermore (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) tallied a season-high 28 points on 13-of-19 shooting with junior guard Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) adding 19 points, senior guard Tiffany Grant (Odenton, Md./Arundel) adding 10 second-half points, and senior point guard Amanda Andrades (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) reaching double digit assists, with 10, for the third time of her career. Grant and redshirt sophomore Anastasia Williams (Central Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) helped spark a second-half rally that brought an 18-point deficit all the way to three before the visiting Blackbirds ultimately held on for the victory. Grant's back-to-back threes in 33 seconds late in the second-half got things started. FDU's road contest at Sacred Heart on Monday was postponed and moved to Wednesday, Feb. 25, due to winter storm conditions.
