Twitter Updates on @FDUKnightsHACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball (5-12, 2-4 NEC) is riding a two-game Northeast Conference winning streak into its Saturday, Jan. 24, afternoon clash with LIU Brooklyn (5-12, 2-4 NEC). The game will be the final of a four-game homestand and will be the first contest of a doubleheader involving both school's men's basketball teams. NEC Front Row will have live video coverage throughout the day.
Last Time OutIn what was arguably the team's most complete performance, nine different players scored for the Knights as they overpowered first-place Mount St. Mary's, 78-56, with
Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) leading the way on 22 points.
Valerie Oyakhilome (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst),
Amanda Andrades (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) and
Kiana Brown (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) all chipped in with double-digit points but it was the team's performance as a whole – shooting 50% from the floor and 42.9% from long-range – that sealed the team's second victory of the new year. With the squad performing so well,
Erika Livermore (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) was able to get some much needed rest in the second half, only finishing with four points and two rebounds – by far season lows for the redshirt junior. The 22 point margin of victory was the team's highest this season and largest since 2012.
