W. Basketball Concludes Season on Monday With Senior Night

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (2-26, 1-16 NEC) concludes the 2013-14 season on Monday night inside Stratis Arena with a Northeast Conference contest against Sacred Heart (12-16, 9-8 NEC). Before the 7 p.m. tipoff, seniors Desiree Crawford (Aurora, Ontario/Cardinal Carter Catholic) and Alea Boyd (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy) will be honored on Senior Night. A live video broadcast of the ceremonies will begin at 6:50 p.m. on NEC Front Row. 


Last Time Out
The Knights suffered a heart-breaking loss at home on Saturday, falling, 62-61, to Central Connecticut after two free throws in the dying seconds. Sophomore Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) hit a three-pointer to retake the lead, 61-60, with 37 seconds remaining, as part of her game-high 20 points but Blue Devils' senior Jessica Babe hit the go-ahead freebies moments later. Sophomore Brianna Thomas (Baldwin, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) added 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals for FDU.

What You Need To Know: The Pioneers are currently tied for fifth in the conference standings and need a win tomorrow night to potentially host an NEC Quarterfinal game. Junior guard Gabriell Washington does most of the damage for Sacred Heart, averaging 19.5 points per NEC contest, and had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the first contest between the two sides last month. Sophomore Hannah Kimmel scored a team-high 19 points in just 27 minutes last time out as well. Kimmel is second on the team with 13.7 points per NEC game and adds 7.6 rebounds per game.
