HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (1-2) is at former Northeast Conference foe Monmouth (1-1) on Tuesday night for the first of two road contests this week. Tipoff from the MAC is slated for 7 p.m.
Â
Last Time OutThe Knights suffered an agonizing 61-60 overtime loss to Bucknell at home on Saturday afternoon, coming on the heels of another hard-fought defeat at the hands of NJIT last Wednesday evening, 68-64. Down at halftime for both games, FDU stormed back to outscore its opponents by a combined 66-54 score. However, it wasn't enough against the Highlanders and it forced overtime against the Bisons but the visitors stole a victory in the last few seconds. Still, it was a fantastic defensive effort from the Knights where they forced their opponents into 24 turnovers in the two second halves and one overtime period. Junior guard
Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) paced her team with 16 points against Bucknell to go along with a game-high four steals, while senior point guard
Amanda Andrades (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) continued her steady play with 12 points, four rebounds, eight assists, a block, and two steals in a game-high 43 minutes.
