W. Basketball Hosts St. Francis Brooklyn Monday Night

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (1-11, 0-1 NEC) will return to Stratis Arena on Monday to face St. Francis Brooklyn in a Northeast Conference contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.

Last Time Out
The Knights opened Northeast Conference play on the road on Saturday and were defeated by Bryant, 77-63. FDU found itself down 21 points at halftime before outscoring the Bulldogs by seven over the final 20 minutes. Sophomore Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) paced the Knights and finished with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, while freshman Kiana Brown (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) came off the bench and added 10 points and five rebounds. Senior Desiree Crawford (Aurora, Ontario/Cardinal Carter Catholic) battled foul trouble all game but still put up eight points, seven rebounds and a season-high five blocks. Sophomore Brianna Thomas (Baldwin, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) chipped in eight points and eight rebounds in her return from an injury layoff, and junior Amanda Andrades (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) tied her career high in steals with six to go along with eight points.

What You Need To Know: The Terriers, who were picked to finish sixth in the NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, continue their remarkable turnaround under second-year head coach John Thurston. SFB is off to its best start in nearly four decades and have won six straight games. The Terriers lone two losses are on the road to members of "high major" Division I programs – St. John's (Big East, 66-56) and Miami (ACC, 78-57). SFB opened conference play on Saturday with a five-point home win over Mount St. Mary's.
