PHILADELPHIA -- Eight fencers saw action for the Fairleigh Dickinson women's fencing team on Sunday at the Philadelphia Invitational, hosted by Penn. FDU finished 1-4 in competition against Haverford, NJIT, Temple, North Carolina and Sacred Heart.

A near perfect finish from first-year starter Nadine Abdelazia in foil led the way for FDU. The redshirt sophomore, who finished 14-1 on the day, posted sweeps against stiff competition, with her only loss coming against the Tar Heels.

Several Knights posted key victories as well, including junior Yeliz Inalman (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) in epee and redshirt senior Hanna Heldenmuth (Miami, Fla./Keystone National) in saber.

FDU will look to gain momentum when it travels to Evanston, Ill. to participate in the Northwestern this weekend, Feb. 1-2.
