HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's and women's track and field teams will be starting its 2013-14 indoor season this weekend. The Knights will compete Friday at the Fordham Season Opener in the Bronx, N.Y., before hosting the FDU Knights Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Rothman Center.

Friday's meet at Fordham will begin at 2 p.m. with the pole vault. One hour later, the long jump will take place, followed by the triple jump, weight throw and shot put. The high jump at 5 p.m. will conclude the field events.

The running events are scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. in the following order: 60H (trials), 60m (trials), 60H (finals), 60m (finals), mile, 800, 400, 200, alumni mile, 4x800, 4x400.

Sunday's home meet at the Rothman Center will begin at 8:45 a.m. with the individual weight throw. The triple jump will then start at 9:30 a.m., followed by the long jump and the shot put.

The running portion of the meet is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. and will proceed in the following order: 3000m, 55HH, 55M, 400m, 600m, 55H (finals), 55m (finals), 4x200, 4x800, 300m, 1000m, 4x400.

After this weekend's opening action, FDU will have a month off before competing at the NYC Gotham Cup, hosted by NYU, on Jan. 10.
