Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Face Off in Conference Doubleheader at RMU on Saturday

The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's and women's basketball teams will play a conference doubleheader at Robert Morris in Moon Township, PA on Saturday, January 28th. The women will take the floor first at 5:00 p.m. and the men's team is slated to face off against the Colonials at the completion of the first game, at 7:30 p.m.

The women's team (4-11, 1-6 NEC) will begin the first of three-straight games on the road at 5:00 p.m., marking the second-longest road tilt of the season.

Robert Morris leads the all-time series, 20-17. The Colonials won the most recent meeting on Feb. 14, 2005 by a score of 77-52. Fairleigh Dickinson's last victory came on Jan. 17, 2004, as the Knights posted a 73-61 win.

FDU is coming off a 76-55 loss on Jan. 25 to visiting Sacred Heart University, who are undefeated in nine NEC contests.

Senior guard Krissy Suckow is the averaging double-digit point totals, with 10.2 ppg, in addition to 3.7 apg. Sophomore forward Jennifer Walkling recorded a double-double versus the Pioneers in only her second game since returning to the starting line-up, notching season-highs of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The men's team (9-8, 6-2 NEC) is coming off their third-straight win, most recently defeating St. Francis PA on Thursday evening, 66-49, at DeGol Arena in Loretto, PA. Senior Chad Timberlake led the Knights against the Red Flash, scoring 23 points for his second-straight 20+ point game after recording a season-high 32 versus Sacred Heart.

Timberlake currently leads the team, averaging 14.7 points pre game. Senior Gordon Klaiber is adding 12.5 ppg and junior Andrea Crosariol leads the squad on the boards with 6.4 rebounds per game. Crosariol's 52.4 shooting percentage from the floor leads the team.

Robert Morris (11-7, 7-2 NEC) is in sole possession of first place in the Northeast Conference after overcoming a 14-point deficit to defeat Monmouth, 73-65, on Thursday evening.

The Knights are 3-6 on the road, including a 2-2 away conference mark, while the Colonials are undefeated at home, 9-0 (5-0 in league action).

The Knights met Robert Morris on one occasion last season, downing the Colonials on Feb. 10 in Sewall Center, 83-75. Klaiber paced the Knights with 21 points, while Timberlake netted 19 in the win.
