Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer junior midfielder Daniel Lasarte was named NEC Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, September 5.

In the Knights' opening match on Friday at the UAB Soccer for a Cure Classic, Lasarte scored the game winning goal in overtime to help the Knights cap a 2-1 win over the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  The 2017 All-NEC Second Teamer now has three points on the campaign.

Lasarte is the second consecutive Knight to receive the honor after senior Ahu Obhakhan earned the distinction for the opening week of the season.
