Sophomore Nicole Chis claimed the "E Flight" championship at the 2013 USTA BJK NTC Women's Collegiate Invitational last weekend.
Chis was dominant on Sunday in a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Princeton's Caroline Joyce, the draw's No. 2 overall seed. She defeated two of the four-seeded players en route to the title. Over the three days, Chis went 4-0.
On Saturday she had no problem in a 6-1, 6-1 quarterfinal victory over Charleston Southern's Alia Nour, before needing three sets to defeat the draw's No. 4 overall seed, Amanda Wickman of Pittsburgh, 3-6, 6-3, 10-6, in the semifinals.
In Friday's round of 16Â Â Chis shut out Morgan State's Arina Alileuva, 6-0, 6-0.
