TEANECK, N.J. – Laura Martinez was named a United Soccer Coaches Preseason Player to Watch for a second straight season, per a release from the United Soccer Coaches on Friday afternoon. FDU's senior saw her name appear among the other top 50 midfielders in the nation when the list was publicized.

Martinez, the reigning NEC Midfielder of the Year, has made 58 starts in her FDU career. Dating back to her freshman season, Martinez has started in all but one of the Knights' matches over that span. This has resulted in two All-NEC distinctions at the end of her sophomore and junior seasons.

The midfielder is set to begin her senior campaign next Sunday, August 16, when FDU travels to Seton Hall.
