RIVERDALE, N.Y.- The FDU Knights (6-7, 0-2 NEC) fell to the Manhattan Jaspers (5-10, 3-1 NEC) in three sets. FDU still has two more non-conference opponents before the end of the season.

Three Manhattan errors put the Knights ahead 5-3 early. Manhattan retook the lead before Vinil Shah evened out the affair at 6-6.Â
The Jaspers were able to stay just ahead of the Knights, with kills from Shah and Rayjan Suarez Palacios cutting the FDU deficit to just one, 11-10. FDU remained within one, until a 3-0 and 4-0 run gave Manhattan the separation they needed to hold the Knights 22-17.Â
FDU fought back late, logging four blocks. Jamal Ellis began the stretch, recording a solo block. Dylan McFadden, Panagiotis Kourmouzos, and Ellis were involved in two more blocks for the Knights as they brought the set back within one, 24-23. The Jaspers held on, securing the final point.
FDU logged two kills early from McFadden and Ellis, as the Jaspers jumped out to a 7-5 lead. An attack error and a kill by Kourmouzos brought the score back to 11-10 in favor of the Jaspers. Manhattan responded with a four point burst to reassert their lead, 15-10.Â
Once again FDU fought back late, with Laydon Biro, Ellis, and Kourmouzos logging kills to keep the Knights in the contest 21-19. The Jaspers held on, taking the second set 25-20.Â
FDU took an early 2-1 lead in the third set. The Knights then gave up an eight point run to the Jaspers, to real 9-2. Manhattan continued to stay comfortably ahead of FDU, winning the final set 25-11.
