TEANECK, N.J. - FDU Baseball (6-7, 3-1 NEC) set a new season high for total runs scored on Friday afternoon in a decimation of the Coppin State Eagles (2-11, 2-2 NEC), as the Knights got the victory 24-5 in seven innings, as the game was called due to a mercy rule.
The Knights started the game down by three runs after a three run second inning by Coppin State. The Knights punched back with ten runs of their own in their half of the second inning, starting with a perfectly executed first and third steal play, as

Jeremy Cheeseman would be the next Knight to tally an RBI, as he recorded an RBI walk that continued to have the bases loaded.

Jeremy Delamota singled home Quagliato that made the game 10-3 Knights, and an even 10 run second inning.
The Knights would add two more in the fourth and two more in the fifth, as Quagliato hit a two run single, and then Cheeseman hit a two run homer to make the game 14-3 FDU at the conclusion of five innings.

Anthony Sarro, as Sarro hit a round tripper in his first plate appearance of the season. Cheeseman then launched his second home run of the game and his fourth of the season, this one being a solo shot that made the game 19-4 FDU.
Following a
Johnathan Gomez RBI walk that made the game 20-4,
Brady Fandl hit a grand slam in a pinch hit appearance to extend the FDU lead to 24-4 which would be FDU's last runs of the ballgame. Coppin State would add one more run in the top of th seventh, but the game would be called in the middle of the seventh frame due to the NEC's mercy rule.
