SINKING SPRINGS, Pa. – FDU women's bowling saved its best performances for last at the Golden Bear Invite, hosted by Kutztown this weekend. The Knights rolled an 1108 in their penultimate baker match before closing out the tournament with 976 pins in a 4-1 best-of-seven victory. They finished the weekend in third place.
This convincing conclusion came after FDU was able to salvage just one victory in their first seven matches of the competition. The Knights failed to break the 900-mark in this span.
However, FDU boosted themselves into the top four of the standings with their baker total pinfall match against Molloy. The Knights bowled games of 267 and 289 en route to their resounding 1108-845 win. They struck ten-straight times when they knocked down 289 pins. This was a game high for the Knights under
K.J. Martinez.
After qualifying, FDU finished third with 7071 pins.
This pitted FDU against #4 Caldwell in the best-of-seven for the third-place trophy. The Knights opened with a 225 and never looked back. They won games 1,2,4 & 5, eclipsing 210 pins three times over that stretch. This brought FDU's record to 3-6 on the weekend.
