KANSAS CITY, MO – The United Soccer Coaches announced their first regional rankings of the 2025 season on Wednesday afternoon. The FDU Knights found themselves ranked sixth in the Northeast Region Poll.
The Knights enter the list after an impressive first week, which saw them pick up a win and a draw against two America East opponents. The Knights finished in a 1-1 draw against UAlbany in their season opener on Aug. 21, highlighted by a big first career goal for Luke Ayaz.
Sunday, Aug. 24 featured the highlight of the Knights' first week, when they picked up a thrilling 1-0 victory over NJIT in Teaneck. With the match in a scoreless tie into the 87th minute, FDU pulled away following the first career goal by freshman David Ivascu just two minutes into his collegiate career. Ivascu was named the NEC Rookie of the Week for his heroics.
The Knights were joined by two other NEC members (LIU, New Haven) in the Northeast Region Poll. The full poll can be found here.
FDU is back in action on August 30, when they travel to Jersey City to face Saint Peter's. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.
