Jadeyn Mabry Named NTCA All-Rookie Second Team

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU freshman bowler Jadeyn Mabry was named to the NTCA All-Rookie Second Team in an announcement made Thursday morning. Mabry is one of just ten freshmen in the entire nation honored on these two teams.

"Jadeyn stepped onto the collegiate stage with a poise and competitive spirit that's rare to find," said head coach K.J. Martinez. "Her ability to execute in pressure moments, especially in baker matches, gave us a reliable spark throughout the season. She embraced every challenge, led with consistency, and earned every accolade with grit and grace. We're proud of the way she represented FDU and excited for what's ahead in her journey."

Mabry made an immediate impact on the Knights and in the NEC. She graced the number three spot in FDU's starting lineup for a majority of the season. Throughout the year, she was named the NEC Rookie of the Week a league-high five times and the Bowler of the Week twice. She also landed on the All-NEC Second Team.

In her rookie year Mabry possessed a strike percentage of 44.1%. She also converted a stellar 81.8% of makable spares. Her filled frame percentage across all formats came in just a tick under 84%. Mabry's consistency was highlighted at the Music City Classic when she made the all-tournament team. The event, hosted by Vanderbilt, consisted of some of the top teams in the country and Mabry finished tenth individually of all bowlers in the field.

The freshman particularly shined in the baker format. She averaged 19.95 pins per frame which was the highest on the team. Mabry's strike percentage in baker was 45.9% and her baker double strike percentage was 45.5%. The Arizona native was reliable too, converting 90.7% of single pin spares. Overall, she filled 85.1% of her frames in this format.

Mabry's success was part of a much larger picture. The Knights took home trophies at four events, won both the NEC regular season and tournament titles, and earned a victory in the NCAA tournament. FDU finished with a record of 71-32, marking a 13-win improvement from 2023-24.

ABOUT THE NTCA
Since its development, the National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) has been a driving force in the advancement of NCAA Women's Bowling. More than half of the individuals who coach at NCAA institutions
who sponsor women's bowling are NTCA members, and that number continues to grow each season. The NTCA's core mission is twofold. First, to faciliate dialogue between coaches and the NCAA in the development of bowling legislation and rules. Secondly, to provide coaches and institutions with the education necessary to grow the sport. The NTCA sponsors the The NTCA Coaches Poll, which is the official poll for ranking the top 25 NCAA women's bowling teams in the nation as well as a separate poll for Division II and Division III programs. In addition, the NTCA sponsors All American awards, as well as Rookie, Coach, and Bowler of the Year awards. The NTCA also provides a statistical reporting service that tracks player and team performance across multiple categories.
