HACKENSACK, N.J. – A second-half run created all the separation FDU (10-15, 6-4) needed in a 69-58 win over Wagner (12-12, 4-7) on Saturday afternoon.
Bismark Nsiah led the Knights with a season-high 18 points and ten rebounds.
Similar to their first matchup with Wagner, it was slow start offensively for the Knights. They trailed 22-12 at the 7:05 mark in the first half. FDU sharpshooter
Dylan Jones then knocked down three triples to spark his team. He scored all of his 11 points in the first half. Nsiah tapped in rebound at the buzzer to tie the game at 28-28 heading into halftime.
Wagner pulled ahead 34-29 at the start of the second half, but the Knights responded with a big time run. Over the next eight minutes they outscored Wagner 23-5 and built an 13-point advantage.
After scoring just two points in the first period, Nsiah came alive in the second half. He made ten trips to the free throw line for nine of his 15 second-half points. Nsiah also grabbed seven rebounds to secure his third double-double of the season.
FDU held Wagner to under 33% shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers. The Knights capitalized on these miscues to the tune of 19 points off turnovers.
It was a balanced offensive attack for
Jack Castleberry's team. Four of FDU's starters scored in double-figures.
Terrence Brown scored 12 and dished out four assists.
Jameel Morris connected on two of FDU's six triples en route to nine points off the bench.
