HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU (11-15, 7-4) delivered their most emphatic statement of the season on Thursday night with a 91-49 rout of Chicago State (4-22, 4-7).
Dylan Jones connected on a career-high eight triples for a career-high 25 points to lead the Knights' explosion.
The win marks FDU's largest margin of victory against a Division I opponent this season. It also ties the most points they have scored against a Division I opponent in 2024-25, matching their total from their double-overtime victory at Le Moyne (1/10/25).
Jones' eight triples tie the NEC single-game high for this season. At 68 threes he has made 16 more than any other player in the conference. The junior guard is heating up as of late. Over the last three games he is 14-25 from deep.
Jones was not the only player to have success from beyond the arc tonight. FDU hit 14 threes as a team.
Chidube Ekwommadu came off the bench and drained four triples for a career-high 12 points.
FDU led 43-29 at halftime and then opened the second period on a 25-11 run. This spurt spanned from the start of the second half until there was just 6:07 remaining. While FDU continued to make shots, it was their defense that created all the separation they needed. They held the Cougars to under 25% from the field in the second half. For the game, Chicago State shot just 26.9%.
The Knights closed out nearly every defensive possession. They out-rebounded the Cougars 51-29 and grabbed ten offensive rebounds.
Terrence Brown turned in another good performance with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Bismark Nsiah also came up just shy of a double-double with ten points and nine boards.
