Brown Notches Career High; Knights Fall to CCSU

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Terrence Brown exploded for a career-high 29 points in a 87-66 loss at Central Connecticut (17-6, 8-2) on Thursday night. FDU now sits at 9-15 overall and 5-4 in conference play.

Brown's 29 points are the second most by an FDU player this season. The guard was 11-15 from the field and went 6-11 from the free throw line. 19 of his points came in the first half. His scoring output was complemented by three steals.

Good shooting from the Blue Devils and FDU foul trouble put the Knights in an early hole. They trailed 33-18 just past the midway point of the first half. The Burgundy and Blue started to heat up from deep and knocked down four triples over the next seven minutes. This spurred a 20-8 run and got the Knights to within three. They trailed 43-39 at halftime.

Dylan Jones scored the first five points out of the locker room and gave FDU their first lead at 44-43. CCSU grabbed the lead back, but an emphatic put-back slam courtesy of Jo'el Emanuel tied the game at 48-48.

In the final 15:30 the Blue Devils outscored FDU 39-18 and secured their sixth-straight victory.

Despite the loss, FDU took good care of the basketball and shared it relatively well. They committed just seven turnovers and created 15 assists. The Knights also produced seven steals, which helped them erase the initial deficit.

Four of FDU's assists came from Emanuel, who found his way into multiple areas of the stat-sheet. He finished the game with nine rebounds, five points, four assists and two steals.

Jones found a little bit of a rhythm from beyond the arc in Detrick. After experiencing a cold streak over the past five games, he connected three times from downtown tonight.
