NEWARK, N.J. – FDU women's tennis lost their second consecutive match of the spring season earlier today, falling to NJIT 5-2. With a strong start in doubles, Valentina Silva and Katsiaryna Kostsina secured a 6-4 victory, putting the Knights ahead early. Alena Kubanova and partner Yelena Kim were able to clinch the doubles point with a thrilling 7-6 (7-5) win over Arina Babkova and Shaom Salvi. The momentum slowed down during singles, as the Burgundy and Blue lost five of six matches. The sole win came courtesy of Kim, who defeated Irene Cocero 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3.
