HACKENSACK, N.J.- FDU (2-7) took care of Manor (1-2) in an 86-38 victory on Thursday night. The Knights never trailed in the contest.
- Cyril Martynov posted a 13 point performance in the victory.
- He additionally dished out 12 assists for his first double-double of the season.
- His nine rebounds were one short of a triple-double.
- Martynov shot 6-7 from the floor and 1-2 from the free throw line.
The Knights powered their way to a 9-0 lead after three different Knights were successful from three.
After giving up back-to back layups,
Noah Melson connected on a layup to resume the scoring for the Knights. He was followed up by a pair of buckets from Martynov as the Knights went up 17-6.
Melson finished the second half on a high note, draining a pair of three pointers in the final three minutes of the first half. The Knights took a 44-21 lead into the intermission.
Martynov and
Taeshaud Jackson came out of the break with the first six points for the Knights, as they led 49-26.
A free throw from David Javtic tarted the final stretch of scoring for FDU.
Josiah Francis landed a layup and Alexander Cole connected on a two point tip-in to conclude a final five point run by the Knights. FDU only gave up two more points in the contest as they took home the 86-38 win.
- The Knights shot 58.1% from the floor (36-62), while finishing 31.2% (9-28) from beyond the arc.
- 52 of the Knight's points came in the paint, holding Manor to just 20 inside the paint.
- Additionally, the Knights shot 71.4% (5-7) from the free throw line, including 5-6 in the second half.
- The Knights were able to capitalize on turnovers, grinding out 19 points off Manor's miscues.
- Joey Niesman added a team high 16 points for FDU, alongside a pair of rebounds.
- Noah Melson added 14 points, including going 4-6 from the three point line.
