Fogarty Earns First NEC Bowler of the Week Award

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – It is officially a week of firsts for FDU's Emily Fogarty. This past Saturday she claimed her first collegiate singles title at the Bud Whitman Memorial. Today, she was named the NEC Bowler of the Week for the first time in her career.

Fogarty knocked down 987 pins for the Knights in their first team competition of the year. She complemented her 19.74 average by filling 92% of her frames. Her total pinfall ranked first of all the bowlers in the field.

FDU's senior captain displayed great consistency on spare conversions. She converted 26 of 29 makeable spares and knocked down 94.1% of single pin spares. In addition to this, Fogarty cashed in 20 strikes.

Fogarty and the Knights are back in action this Friday-Sunday (Oct 17-19) when they host the N.J. Open at Bowler City in Hackensack.
