HOWELL, N.J. – The FDU Knights competed at the Garden State Classic hosted by Monmouth this weekend. The Burgundy and Blue notched eight wins, while dropping five matches, at Howell Lanes in Central Jersey.

The Knights started out hot in the baker total pinfall format on Friday with wins over Holy Family and Monmouth. However, a talented Bryant squad halted the Knights' momentum in their match of the day. FDU was defeated by Bryant and then went onto lose matches against Morgan State and Mount Saint Mary's. Friday was highlighted by a 914-pin performance in the Knights' win over conference foe Monmouth. FDU finished the day 2-3.

Saturday offered a blank slate and K.J. Martinez's squad took full advantage. The Knights began the day with a 30-pin win over Morgan State and rolled from there. The traditional round began next and FDU picked up victories over Felician, Molloy, Bowie State and LIU. FDU went 5-0 and bowled over 900 in every match, including two matches where they eclipsed 1000.

On Sunday, FDU knocked down 1001 pins in their opening traditional match against Adelphi. Dominican then snapped the Knights' winning streak in the next match. The weekend closed with a baker match against Felician, which was won by the Golden Falcons.

Jadeyn Mabry and Emily Fogarty were named to the all-tournament team.

What's Next

 This marked the final tournament of the fall semester for FDU. They will return to competition on January 31 at the Griffen Baker Classic in Deptford, N.J.
