NORTH EASTON, MA – FDU women's basketball (16-3, 6-0) picked up a road win over Stonehill (8-11, 4-2) on Thursday night. The Knights took down the Skyhawks 72-54 following a banner night for the offense.
Four different players scored in double figures for FDU. The Knights also lit things up from outside, knocking down 11 threes at a 44% clip.
FDU controlled the game from the jump, beginning the game on a 17-5 run and forcing several early timeouts from Stonehill. The Knight lead would balloon to as much as 14 in the first half, following an
Abby Conklin three at the three-minute mark of the second quarter. Conklin knocked down multiple threes in the first half, as did her teammate
Lilly Parke.
Coming out of the halftime break, Stonehill began to turn things up a little. The Skyhawks cut things to just a seven-point game after some buckets from their stars Sharn Hayward and Kylie Swider. It would remain a seven-point game heading into the final frame, with Stonehill controlling momentum, and looking to complete a comeback in the fourth quarter.
Things were quiet to begin the fourth, as neither team scored through the first two and a half minutes.
Ava Renninger ended the scoring drought with a layup, and then FDU and Stonehill traded three-pointers from Parke and Hayward, respectively.
It would sit at a nine-point Knights lead with six minutes to go. It was at that point that FDU took the game over, and sealed up a win. Over the next three minutes, the Knights proceeded to rip off a 9-0 run to double their lead to 18. The teams would trade a few more buckets late, but things would wrap up with the Knights ahead by 18, for their ninth-straight victory.

- Teneisia Brown picked up her sixth double-double of the season.
- Lilly Parke led the Knights in scoring for the third time this season.
- Parke also led the Knights in scoring against Mount St. Mary's (11/10) and Bucknell (11/13), coincidentally both with 17 as well.
- FDU moved the ball incredibly well, assisting on 19 of their 29 makes from the field.
WHAT'S NEXT
FDU will have a long layoff after their ninth-straight win. The Knights will next be in action in eight days, when they host Mercyhurst in Hackensack on February 1. FDU will be hosting Girls and Women in Sports Day for that game. Tip-off will be at 1 p.m. with coverage available on NEC Front Row.
