BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – FDU sophomore
Nilaja Wiltshire continued what has been an utterly dominant 2024-25 season, taking home her third NEC Field Athlete of the Week honor on Tuesday.
Wiltshire is given the award following a stellar showing at the 2025 Gotham Cup. The Knights' thrower had an exceptional day in the weight throw, finishing with the top distance of all competitors with a mark of 16.53m. Wiltshire's mark of 16.53m is also a personal best for her.
The Phillipsburg, N.J. native also had a solid day in the shot put. Wiltshire finished in second, posting a distance of 14.27m.
Wiltshire has been downright incredible for the Knights in their indoor season. Wiltshire has competed in three meets this season, and has been awarded the NEC Field Athlete of the Week after each meet the Knights have participated in this year.
The strong week from WIltshire also earned her a spot as an NEC Prime Peformer, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
The Knights and their star thrower will continue their campaign this coming weekend. The team will compete in the Dr. Sander Scorcher over the course of Jan 24 and Jan 25.
