TEANECK, N.J. – FDU welcomed conference newcomer Chicago State to Teaneck for the first time on Sunday afternoon and comfortably cruised past the Cougars 2-0. This marks the Knights' second straight victory and improves their NEC record to 2-0.

In a similar story to Thursday night at Delaware State, the Knights were the better team from the opening kickoff. They were the dominant possessors of the ball for the entire first half, in which they outshot their opponent 7-0.

Chicago State was able to keep the Knights off the board until the 27^th minute when Andrea Ougaard knocked a header into the back of the net off a cross from Ana Salas. The goal gave FDU 1-0 lead and was the first of Ougaard's 2024 campaign.

FDU nearly made the score 2-0 before the halftime break when they were awarded a penalty shot in the 38^th minute. However, the Chicago State goalkeeper dove to her left and denied Laura Martinez' shot attempt.

The second half was more of the same with the Knights threatening to double their lead from the opening whistle. In the 61^st minute, Salas played another perfect cross that this time was redirected into the back of the net by Marina Burzaco. This goal, Burzaco's second of the season, pulled FDU ahead 2-0.

Salas, the Knights' leader in points with six, now has four assists on the year.

In the end, FDU outshot the Cougars 12-2 and put together their fourth clean sheet of 2024.
