Hempstead, N.Y. -  The FDU Knights fell by a score of 3-0 Thursday night at Hofstra. With the result, FDU drops to 0-3-4 while the Pride improve to 2-0-4.
 
Reigning NEC Rookie of the Week Rosemarie Leblanc kept Hofstra off the board with a few key saves early in the match. However, the Pride were able to capitalize on a FDU mistake in the 36' and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
 
The Knights managed to stay in the game and play with the defending CAA champs, but two more costly FDU mistakes allowed Hofstra to pad their lead to 3-0 in the second half.
 
Hofstra outshot FDU 19-14 in the match. Leblanc finished with eight saves in net for the Burgundy and Blue.
 
"I felt that we played a good game. We made some simple mistakes you can't make against a quality team," said head coach Eric Teepe. "We were in the game, but we just gave them some goals."
 
Of note, the Knights were without Mona Schlegl, who was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week this past Monday. Andrea Ouugard was slotted into the center-back spot and played 90 minutes for the first time this year. This also marked her first start of the season.

The Knights return home this Sunday, September 15. They'll take on Bucknell in a 12 p.m. match that will be aired on NEC Front Row.
