DOVER, Del. - The FDU Knights (12-15, 9-4) continued their three-game series against the Delaware State Hornets (8-17, 7-7) falling by a score of 9-1.
The Hornets got on the board first with a four run lead in the first inning that they periodically added to throughout the game to take an 8-0 lead in the seventh inning.
FDU plated on in the eighth inning off the bat of
Jeremy Cheeseman thanks to a fielders choice that brought in
Justin Sierra who started off the inning with a leadoff single up the middle.
Delaware State tacked on one more run in the bottom of the eighth that sewed up a 9-1 win for the Hornets.
Joey Kosowsky started the game on the mound for FDU and pitched 2 innings striking out three of the 15 batters he faced. We saw
Chris Mattioli, Ben Pika and Brian Yadlon make relief appearances pitching the final six innings. Mattioli ate up four innings for the Knights striking out four batters in his time on the mound and only allowed five hits and two runs.
The Knights picked up six hits and two walks in today's game.
Justin Sierra picked up a multi-hit games with two hits.

Zack Will all recorded one hit each.
