DOVER, Del. - The FDU Knights (12-14, 9-3) came away victorious over the Delaware State Hornets (7-17, 6-7) by a score of 5-0. LHP
Patrick Gardner threw a complete game shutout solidifying this win, only allowing two hits on the day.
The Knights struck first in the fourth inning plating four runs off five hits. FDU loaded the bases with a leadoff walk granted to
Joey DiMotta and two singles off the bats of
Nick Quagliato and
Brian Sanders.
Brelon Harden took the big moment to give FDU their first runs of the game with a double to center field to clear the bases and score three runs. With a single to right field from
Nate Dudeck to drive in Harden, the Knights extended their lead to 4-0.
FDU loaded the bases again in the top of the seventh inning with Quagliato on third with two outs, a passed ball was able to bring in the final Knights run of the day to give FDU a 5-0 lead that would eventually cap off the game.

Patrick Gardner dominated the mound today striking out 11 batters and only allowing two hits and four walks on the day. This marked Gardner's third win of the season.
The Knights managed to pick up eleven hits and three walks in today's game.
Hunter D'Amato led the team with three hits on the day and
Joan Sosa and
Nate Dudeck picked up another multi-hit game with two hits each today.
Jeremy Cheeseman, Sanders, Quagliato and Harden all recorded one hit each.
