Track and Field Takes Three First Place Finishes at Towson Invitational

TOWSON, MD. – FDU men's and women's track and field returned to Towson earlier today to compete in the Towson Invitational. The Knights met opponents from Coppin State, Howard, Morgan State, UMBC, Vanderbilt and more. It was a successful day for the burgundy and blue, who saw 20 top ten finishes, including an event win from Marie Etong Ntonga in the women's triple jump, Nilaja Wiltshire in the women's shot put and Duane Kizer in the men's 110m Hurdles.
 
-Senior Onnieka Rolle placed tenth in the 100m prelims with a time of 12.35
-Freshman Tata Coulibaly placed second in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 14.47
-Junior Duane Kizer finished first in the men's 110m hurdles with an impressive time of 14.25
-Freshman Tele Abe placed ninth in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.92
-Junior Meghan Porter finished 14th in the women's 400m hurdles
-Freshman Brandon Barreto placed sixth in the men's 800m with a time of 2:00.71
-Freshman Trevor Ehrlicher placed second in the men's 3000m steeple with a time of 10:23.17
-Sophomore Luis Abreu finished eighth in the men's 5000m with a time of 16:22.47
-Freshman Darien Cade placed 13th in the men's discus with a mark of 36.82m
-Freshman Rilwan Olunlade had an impressive 1.80m mark in the men's high jump for a fifth-place finish
-Freshman Darien Cade threw 49.60m in the men's javelin for a second-place finish
-Junior Ella Johnson placed third in the women's javelin with a mark of 32.94m
-Junior Ahmed Brown placed second in the men's shot put with a mark of 14.77m
-Freshman Nilaja Wiltshire won the women's shotput with an impressive 14.56m mark
-Freshman Jashad Kersey finished second in the men's triple jump with a 13.64m mark
-Freshman Christian Mercado also participated in the men's triple jump, placing ninth with a mark of 12.93m
-Senior Marie Etong Ntonga won the women's triple jump with an 11.80m mark
-Freshman Amiyah Williams also participated in the women's triple jump, placing fifth
-The men's 4x100m relay of Daniel Chambers, Christian Mercado, Duane Kizer and Xavier Hayletts played fourth with a time of 43.20
-The women's 4x100m relay of Akayla Morris, Onnieka Rolle, Anaya Lowder and Tata Coulibaly placed third with a time of 49.16
 
The Knights look ahead to the NSU Invitational, traveling to Norfolk on April 6. The meet is hosted by Norfolk State and action is set to take place at the Dick Price Stadium.
