Knights Rack Up PR's at Metropolitan Championships

Staten Island, N.Y. – FDU men's and women's track and field headed to Ocean Breeze Complex earlier today to compete in the Metropolitan Championships. The Knights had a successful day with 26 top ten finishes.
 
-Senior Onnieka Rolle placed fifth in the women's 60m with a season best 7.87
-Freshman Tele Abe placed sixth in the men's 60m hurdles with a career best 8.49
-Freshman Anaya Lowder finished ninth in the women's 200m with a time of 25.99 and 14th in the women's 400m with a time of 1:00.92
-Graduate Student Raul Esteves placed 14th in the men's 200m with a season best time of 22.69
-Freshmen Anthony Massari and Dean Joseph placed 13th and 17th in the men's 500m with times of 1:08.25 and 1:10.69
-Freshman Khalia Boyce had two career bests in the 500m with a time of 1:30.12 and the triple jump with a distance of 10.73m
-Junior Andree Celestin had a career best 9.07 in the 60m hurdles and placed second in the long jump with a distance of 5.40m
-Freshman Tata Coulibaly had a busy day, participating in the 60m hurdles (9.60), shot put (10.82m) and the weight throw (career best 14.35m)
-Senior Marie Etong Ntonga won the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.70 and placed sixth in the long jump with a distance of 5.26m
-Freshman and recent Field Athlete of the Week winner Nilaja Wiltshire placed seventh in the women's weight throw with a mark of 15.21, a career best for her
-The men's 4x400m relay of Dean Joseph, Xavier Hayletts, Anthony Massari and Duane Kizer placed seventh with a time of 3:32.53
-The men's 4x800m relay of Brandon Barreto, Ekuyami Conteh, Terry Scott and Luis Abreu placed third with a time of 8:03.51.
-Freshman Rilwan Olunlade placed fifth in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.84m
-Freshmen Jashad Kersey and Christian Mercado placed second and ninth in the men's triple jump with marks of 13.70m and 12.73m
-Senior Ahmed Brown placed second in the men's shot put with a mark of 14.31 and 15th in the men's weight throw with a season best 13.70m
-Freshman Darien Cade placed fifth in the shot put with a career high 13.24m
 
The Knights look ahead to the Tyson Invitational on Februrary 9th-10th in Fayettville, AR. The meet is hosted by the Arkansas Razorbacks and will take place at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
