BUFFALO, N.Y. – FDU men's volleyball wrapped up a weekend of conference play with an afternoon matchup against D'Youville earlier today. The Knights struggled offensively and defensively, tallying up errors and ultimately unable to bounce back before losing 1-3.
Set two saw a brief turnaround, as the burgundy and blue were able to outhit the Saints and tally 18 kills for their strongest hitting percentage of the match at .263. 10 of those came courtesy of
Jamal Ellis Carballo, who showed consistency and led the Knights to a 28-26 set win.
Offensively, the burgundy and blue totaled 44 kills and 25 errors for a hitting clip of .173. The Knights were led by sophomore
Jamal Ellis Carballo, who had an impressive night with 24 kills, five blocks and seven digs for a total of 27 points. Freshman
Ben Casler had a career match, playing in all four sets and tallying four digs, a high for his young career. Sophomore
Dylan McFadden also had a standout match, taking to the court as a setter for the first time in his career. McFadden totaled 32 assists in just three sets, along with two kills and three blocks.
What's Next
FDU will head on the road to Newark, N.J. in an evening matchup against NJIT. First serve is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.
