NEWARK, N.J. – Men's volleyball took a break from conference play to take on NJIT in Newark earlier tonight. The Knights struggled to keep up with the dominate Highlanders, losing the match 0-3.
Set one saw the best performance from the burgundy and blue, only narrowly losing in a close 25-21 set. Sets two and three saw a handful of errors on the side of Knights, including 10 serving mistakes. The tough NJIT team held the Knights to a .083 hitting clip while hitting an impressive .417 themselves.
Offensively, FDU was led by junior
Artem Vetrov who totaled six kills and only three errors for a hitting percentage of .188. Juniors
Jack Lydon and
Lorenzo Bonomo also tallied six kills apiece in the three-set match. Bonomo led the team in points, totaling three aces and two blocks on top of his season-high six kills.
The loss marks the sixth straight for the Knights.
What's Next
