Piscataway, N.J.- FDU women's soccer team (0-4) faced off against Rutgers (2-1-1) today, at Yurcak Field. The Knights fought hard throughout the match but were overcome by the talented Scarlet Knights by a score of 7-0.
1st half
- The Scarlet Knights came out hot and scored three goals in the opening 10 minutes of the match
- FDU recorded their first shot of the match in the 23' when senior Lina Direnberger took a shot that was placed wide left of the goal
- Rutgers added another goal to their tally in the 43' to give them a comfortable 4-0 heading into the halftime break
2nd half
- The Knights accounted for their first shot on target in the 56' when sophomore Anna Cacciuttolo had her shot saved by Olivia Bodmer
- Rutgers kept their foot on the gas and added three goals in the second half which brought the final score to 7-0
The Knights host Hofstra on Thursday (8/31) at University Stadium under the lights at 7PM. The Knights will look to quickly regroup and focus on their next challenge.
