Teaneck, NJ.- The FDU women's lacrosse team (1-12) (1-7 NEC) played their final game of the inaugural season today, April 29th, against LIU (7-9)(5-3). Today was a special occasion for the Knights as they celebrated Senior Day and paid tribute to three outstanding players - Saige-Lyn Gidzinski, Paula Ruess, and Katie Leckonby.

The Sharks came out firing and scored the first seven goals of the game.
Karina Vélez-Corretjer won a free-position shot with 0:03 left on the clock and slotted in her 12th goal of the season at the buzzer with 0:01 remaining in the quarter.
Q2
LIU extended their lead to 10 after scoring the first four goals of the period.
Brielle McInaw scored from a free-position shot for her 24th goal of the season.
Saige-Lyn Gidzinski was awarded a free-position shot with 0:50 remaining in the quarter and converted it for her 20th goal of the season.
The Sharks scored the final goal of the period to head into the halftime break with a nine-goal advantage.

LIU scored to resecure their 10-goal advantage.
McInaw converted another free-position shot which cut the LIU lead to nine.
Q4
McInaw completed her hattrick with 51 seconds remaining in the game to bring her final goal-scoring tally to a team-leading 26 goals.
Alyssa Perez scored her 22nd goal of the season with 12 seconds remaining to make the final score 14-6.
The Knights are already looking ahead to the next season with a positive mindset, as they plan to utilize the offseason to bolster their young squad with new talent and depth. As the current season draws to a close, the team has plenty to be proud of and reflect on. The players have identified their strengths and weaknesses and are eager to work on them during the offseason. With focus and determination, the Knights are poised to make their mark in the NEC and come back stronger next season after completing their first full season.
