FDU Surges to Second Place Finish at Sacred Heart Invitational

DAYTONA, F.L.- The FDU women's golf team fired scores of 305 and 304 over two rounds at the Sacred Heart Invitational for a total team score of +33. This number placed them second of all teams in the field this week at LPGA International.

Anete Adul was the Knights' low scorer on the week. She shot 75 on both days for a final score of +6, which tied her for third place out of 77 golfers. Adul made five birdies in the 36 holes that she played. Her +1 on the back nine of the final round was able to push her into the top five on the leaderboard. This is the highest finish of her career and her second straight top-10 result.

Victoria Schroedl's stellar -1 on the back nine in round one actually placed her in a tie for first place heading into the second day. In the second round, Schroedl shot a +5 on the front nine but bounced back nicely with a +3 on the final nine holes to earn herself a tie for eighth place. This is her fourth top-10 result of the year. Schroedl led the field in pars made.

FDU freshman Abbey Baker displayed resilience down at LPGA Invitational. Baker shot a +8 on the first day in Florida but birdied three of the first five holes in round two to set herself up for a strong finish. Baker eventually would finish the day +2 and tied for 11th on the week. This is the best finish of her career.

As a team, FDU made the most pars and second most birdies in the field.

FDU will head to Prospect Bay Country Club to play in the Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay on April 1-2 in Grasonville, M.D.
