HACKENSACK, N.J.- In less than a month, the FDU men's volleyball team will kick off their third season in program history. Today, the Knights officially announced their 2024 schedule.
Under the guidance of third-year head coach
Karl France, FDU will compete in the Northeast Conference. In 2023, the Knights narrowly missed qualifying for the NEC tournament in the conference's inaugural season.
The Knights will launch their 2024 campaign down in "America's Playground" at the JBJ Battle for the Boardwalk. FDU will play three games in Atlantic City against Belmont Abbey, Barton and St. Thomas Aquinas on January 12-13. These games will be streamed exclusively on NEC Front Row.
After a pair of tilts at Roberts Wesleyan, the FDU faithful will finally get to see the "Burgundy and Blue" on their home floor against St. Thomas Aquinas on January 26Â at 7 p.m. This will be the first of four non-conference contests that the Knights host at Stratis Arena in 2024, which is double the amount that they hosted in 2023.
Perhaps the highlight of the non-conference home slate comes on February 3Â when Pepperdine visits Hackensack for the "DezyStrong Foundation" game. To learn more about this night, stay tuned for updates on FDUKnights.com and @FDUKnightsMVB on Instagram and X.
The Knights will host Princeton and George Mason at home, while they will go on the road to take on notable opponents in NJIT and Penn State. For the second-consecutive year, FDU will also travel to Virginia to take on George Mason just a few weeks after the Patriots visit the Hackensack.
NEC play begins in late February with a couple of doozies in Buffalo. First, the Knights will take on Daemen on the 23
rd and then will challenge D'Youville on February 24. Last year, FDU concluded the season with two wins against these teams. This included playing spoiler vs. D'Youville on the final day of the regular season when the Knights knocked the Saints out of NEC tournament contention.Â
NEC competition marches on with two matches against reigning NEC tournament champions LIU. On March 2, the Sharks will visit Stratis Arena and then two weeks later, on the 16
th, the Knights will travel to Brooklyn. Next, FDU will make themselves comfortable for a four-game homestand with battles against Sacred Heart, Merrimack, D'Youville, and Daemen. These matches bring FDU to the end of March.
FDU closes their season with four-straight conference matches on the road. During the first weekend in April, they will take on Merrimack and Sacred Heart. They then finish the campaign with a pair of matches at Saint Francis U on April 12
th-13
th.
The six-team NEC tournament begins on April 17
th and will be played at the #1 seed's home venue.
All of the Knight's home and conference matches can be streamed on NEC Front Row.Â
