BRIDGEWATER, N.J.- Jamal Ellis and Rayjan Suarez Palacios headline the NEC Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards for the second time this season. Per a conference release, Ellis landed his second Player of the Week award this season, while Suarez Palacios took home his third consecutive Defensive Player of the Week honor. The two players helped the Knights best Daemen in both matchups over the weekend, including sweeping the Wildcats for the first time in program history.
Ellis made history over the weekend, as he became the first player in program history to record 1000 career kills during the second matchup versus Daemen on April 4. During the first meeting on April 3, Ellis dealt a season-topping eight blocks alongside a service ace and 16 kills. The opposite hitter combined for 33.5 total points over the two days, which featured 28 kills.
Suarez Palacios dished out a season high four digs and two service aces during the April 3 matchup over the Wildcats. Over the weekend, the middle blocker totaled 12 blocks and 12 kills..
Joining them as Prime Performers this week are outside hitters Dylan McFadden and Laydon Biro.
