Saturday at Stratis Arena Set for Knights vs. Eagles

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights will finish up their busy week with a tilt against the American Eagles on Saturday. The game will tip-off at 7 p.m. inside Stratis Arena in Hackensack, N.J. as the Knights look for their second home victory of the season.

HOW TO WATCH

Fans can watch all of the action on NEC Front Row.

LAST TIME OUT

The Knights last saw the court on Wednesday against NJIT. The Knights fell to the Highlanders 61-46. FDU kept pace with NJIT in the first 20 minutes, only trailing by four at the half, but the Knights lost their footing in the third and could not complete a comeback in the final period. Teneisia Brown led the Knights as she earned her second double-double of the early season, scoring 17 points and collecting 11 off the glass. Staci Williams put together another notable game where she tallied 11 points for FDU.

DOUBLE TROUBLE

Senior forward Teneisia Brown posted her second double-double in her last three games on Wednesday. Brown's first double-double came against Mount St. Mary's (Md.) where she tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds. As the calendar flips to December, Brown will aim to continue pacing the Knights offensively.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

The Knights look to continue their control on the glass averaging 33.6 rebounds per game in comparison to their opponents who average 32.3. FDU is also averaging nearly one three-pointer more than opponents on average this season as they have connected on over six triples per game.

BEHIND ENEMY LINES

The Eagles enter this game with a 1-5 record. In their last contest American fell to Delaware by a 10-point deficit with a score of 68-58. American is averaging 59.5 points per game and they are shooting 38.8% from the floor. The Eagles are 28-for-108 (25.9%) from downtown and are pulling in just over 36 rebounds per game.

SCOUT'S CORNER

The Knights will be keyed in on American's Emily Johns and Ivy Bales. Johns leads the Eagles with a total of 77 points on 52.5% from the field and 21 rebounds. The senior forward has been in double-digits in five of their six games so far this season. Bales has been a force on both sides of the court as she has scored 42 points, tallied 27 boards, and produced 11 takeaways.

PACING THE SIDELINES

Tiffany Coll is in her second season as head coach of the Eagles. She previously served as American's associate head coach and was promoted prior to last season. Coll had a notable run in her previous position where she helped guide the team to three Patriot League Championship titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

OLD HISTORY

FDU and American have faced each other three times in the past and the Eagles hold a slim 2-1 lead in the series. The Knights look to even the score with a win on Saturday. American's last win in this series was in the 1999-00 campaign.
