BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU men's basketball sophomore Jo'el Emanuel got off to a blazing start as the Suffern, N.Y. product led FDU to a 2-1 start to the 75th season in program history, earning the second-year Knight his first Northeast Conference Player of the Week honor.

Emanuel shot 64.3 percent from the field in three starts in week one, sinking 18-of-28 of his field goal tries. The 6-foot-6 forward hit 50 percent of his three points tries, combing for five, over three games at Buffalo, home against Penn State Brandywine and at Seton Hall to close out the start of the campaign.

In the season opener, Emanuel had 18 points in the first 18 minutes of the first half alone, doubling his previous game-high. He would go on to finish the game with a career-best 24 points.

Scoring 13 points against Penn State Brandywine, Emanuel dished out three assists in each of the first two games while picking up a quartet of defensive boards against The Hall.

His double-double against Buffalo on Nov. 6 was the first of his career.

Emanuel was also named an NEC Prime Performer for his heroics to start off the season.
