How It Happened

1st Half

  • In the 14' graduate student Madelyn Robbins drew a penalty in the box which sophomore Aitana Martínez-Montoya took. She calmly stepped up to the spot and slotted the ball into the bottom right corner of the net for her fifth goal of the season which made it 1-0.
  • The Knights kept up the pressure after the goal and took control of the game once they had the lead.
  • The Knights doubled their lead in the 36' when freshman Anna Cacciuttolo dribbled past the defender and delivered a perfect cross to Robbins who finished the chance and made it 2-0.
  • The high press paid off for the Burgundy and Blue as graduate student Lea Egner was able to force the issue, steal the ball from the goalie and finish on an open net for her second goal of the season which made it 3-0.

2nd Half

  • The Knights started the second half with confidence and stuck to the game plan up three goals.

Quotable

"We are beginning to find ourselves a little bit which has been a battle for us, but we are improving in the areas that we need to and finding more confidence in each other which will only benefit us." Stated head coach Eric Teepe. "Next game for us is very important, we know what Wagner will bring and we must be up for the challenge. Winning games at home is key and we must continue to do so in the Conference"
